My #pb10for10 - Interactive Picture Books that Encourage Participation

I’m thrilled to be joining the #pb10for10 fun again this year!  Many thanks to the wonderful hosts: Cathy Mere (Reflect and Refine) and Mandy Robeck (Enjoy and Embrace Learning).  I enjoy the challenge of creating a meaningful list for myself and others, as well as reading all the wonderful lists posted by the community.

My past #pb10for10 book collections are:

I LOVE unique and engaging picture books!  As a children's librarian, I especially love to read aloud picture books that encourage interaction.  These books turn passive listeners into expressive participants.  Story time is a lot more fun with these picture books . . .

1. Happily Ever After by Laurel Snyder & Dan Santat

2. The Book No One Wants to Read by Beth Bacon

3. The Book of Rules by Brian Gehrlein & Tom Knight

4. This Book is Red by Matt Stanton

5. Press Here by Herve Tullet

6. Count the Monkeys by Mac Barnett & Kevin Cornell

7. This Book Just Ate My Dog by Richard Byrne

8. Crash, Splash, Moo by Bob Shea

9. Don't Push the Button by Bill Cotter

10. High Five by Adam Rubin & Daniel Salmieri

  1. I’ve only read High Five and This Book Just Ate My Dog so I have quite a few I need to check out. Crunch, the Shy Dinosaur is one of my favorite interactive picture books to read aloud.
